Before the Internet, the all-ages punk or metal show was the lifeblood of the scene. Philly had several great spots where you to check out new bands, meet like-minded people, and generally feel a sense of belonging -- even in a crowd of strangers. 3 bands for $5 to $8 was the norm, though City Gardens in NJ ran some higher priced shows with some of the bigger bills.
